Welcome to Gardens of Chelsea, a site where you will learn all about gardening in Chelsea, Alabama... the Tree City.

Our region falls in USDA zone 7. Our city, nestled close to beautiful Oak Mountain, is rich with agriculture history, including cotton farms, fruit crops, vegetable, and beautiful native plants and trees. Our climate is hot and humid, and lends itself to gardening all throughout the year.

If you are a seasoned pro or a beginning gardener, you will find much useful information on these pages.

In 2001, we visited our first Garden Show and Tour in Eufaula, Alabama as part of the annual Pilgrimage event. We were amazed at the beauty of each garden we visited and came home inspired and determined to create the same environment on our property. As we became involved in gardening, we learned that we were not alone. We have come to know many others in the Chelsea area who garden acres and acres, while some tend a small space at their back door. But one thing that all gardeners have in common is their love for growing things, big or small.
